What is your name and where are you from?

How long have you been natural?

It will be 2 years on April 11th

Why did you decide to go natural?

I went natural for a lonnng list of reasons… I realized I had been relaxing my hair more than half of my life and did not know what my natural hair looked like… then I thought of my daughter Zora and I decided I wanted to be a role model of natural beauty for her.

What is your hair type and how would you describe it (kinky, curly, wavy, spirally, etc)?

Curly, wavy, and kinky… 3b, 3c, 4a.

What is your hair care regimen?

I cowash 3x a week give Giovanni’s smooth as silk or Giovanni’s 50:50 conditioner, seal it with avocado oil, then I do double strand twists with Miss Jessie’s Baby Butter Crème, Miss Jessie’s Curly Butter Crème, or Coco Curls…and I deep condition every 2 weeks with Miss Jessie’s Super Sweet back.

What are your favorite hair products?

Miss Jessie’s butter crèmes at the moment!

What has been your experience as a natural? Good, bad, or ugly? How has it affected you?

It has been an amazing journey of self empowerment for me. I have never found myself more “ME” or more beautiful.

What is an important piece of advice you would give to a newly natural?

Learn your hair and trust your gut.
